LIFE Runners Creed: We believe in the dignity of all human life from conception to natural death. We run as a Prayer, that children in the womb may be protected, so that they may be born and welcomed into the Christian community by baptism. We run to build Endurance, for the race is long and we must keep our eyes fixed on You Lord. We run for Awareness, that the eyes of all people may be transformed and see every human life as a reflection of Your glory Lord. We run for Charity, to provide Truth for mothers and fathers tempted to abort their child…and healing support for post-abortion women, men and families. We run to End abortion, for Christ has destroyed the power of death, and therefore the power of abortion. Guard us all, born and unborn, with Your PEACE, Lord. For in You, life is victorious. We pray and run in Your name, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Video.
* LIFE Runners co-founder Dr. Rich Reich was inspired to write this after praying in front of an abortion facility in Orlando, FL on 6 Nov 2010. Encouraged by post-abortion teammates, the Creed was edited on 19 Nov 2011 to include “healing support”.
LIFE Runners Patron Saint: St. Padre Pio, adopted by LIFE Runners on his Feast Day (23 Sep 2011). LIFE Runners co-founder Dr. Pat Castle had a holy run with St. Pio the last 9 min and 51 sec of the 2006 Pikes Peak Ascent (photo/article). St. Pio interceded for many infertile married couples who conceived. We ask St. Pio’s intercessory prayers for our mission to end abortion. St. Padre Pio prayed, “May Jesus be always in your mind, in your heart, and before your eyes.”
“Lead me from death to Life, from falsehood to Truth. Lead me from despair to hope, from fear to trust. Lead me from hate to love, from war to peace. Let peace fill our hearts, our world, our universe. Let us dream together, pray together, work together, to build one world of peace and justice for all.” ~ Blessed Mother Teresa
* LIFE Runners co-founder Dr. Pat Castle was given this prayer by his Mom (Kathy) the night before the 19 Aug 2007 Pikes Peak Marathon (photos). Pat’s Dad (Joe) hiked up the mountain to run a stretch with him during the last grueling mile. The LIFE Runner of the Year recognition is in memory of Joe.
